Tribes Training in MHSD 76
10 Oct
October 4 and 5 saw 461 teachers, administrators and staff members attend the first 2 days of 4 in the process known as Tribes Learning. This approach is a 24 hour course consisting of 8 modules. Tribes is presented by 23 local trainers who learned their role in an intense week long Train the Trainer course in Calgary during August. District staff are lead through activities that model cooperative learning strategies and build inclusion and student resiliency. This highly motivating and enjoyable course will conclude with 2 additional days of training on November 15 and 16. Medicine Hat School District No. 76 is the first school authority to train their entire staff at one time. This shared learning will have profound effects on how students learn in our classrooms.
