New cannabis products like edibles, beverages, topicals and extracts will be for sale legally in Canada in mid-December.
MHPSD Policy 634 – Alcohol, Narcotic and Drug Use states that “the Board prohibits the possession, sale and/or use of banned substances on school property, at school-sponsored functions, or on a school bus.” Banned substances are substances determined by the board as unacceptable for use, or possession, at school without a prescription. Cannabis edibles, concentrates and topicals are considered banned substances. Policy 634 is in draft form before the board and will be revised before edibles, concentrates and topicals are accessible locally.
