Halloween during COVID-19

Celebrate the spookiest time of year without the fear of spreading COVID-19. From trick-or-treating to the double feature picture show, you can enjoy your favourite Halloween activities safely by taking some simple precautions. Leave the terror to monsters, ghosts and evil clowns - not the pandemic.

Check of the Government of Alberta website for guidance on Halloween. All School will have have their own guidance around Halloween, adhering to the following MHPSD recommendations:

    • sealed treats, prepackaged and passed out by staff
    • face masks incorporated into costumes (costume masks are not a suitable replacement)
    • costumes that students can put on/take off themselves
    • no costume props
    • activities kept within the classroom/cohort
    • no smoke machines or other apparatus that could cause coughing
