Parents are invited to attend one of two "Parenting Is Prevention" workshops being presented by various community partners in April and May 2017.
Presented by Alberta Health Services/Addiction and Mental Health, the first workshop is scheduled for 9am-3pm on Wednesday, April 19 at the Medicine Hat Provincial Building (346 - 3rd St SE) Room 1A/B. The second workshop is scheduled for three consecutive Tuesday evenings May 9/16/23 from 6:30-8:30pm at the Medicine Hat Police Station, Community Boardrooom. (You must be able to attend all three evenings of this workshop series.) This workshop series is presented by The Mental Heath Capacity Building Projects, the Medicine Hat Police Service & Alberta Health Services/Addiction and Mental Health. Both workshops are designed to help parents and caregivers of children and youth aged 8-15 to understand their important role in preventing drug/alcohol use in children/youth; to learn some practical ways of communicating well with their children/youth; to learn more about commonly-used drugs; risk/protective factors; the influence of their peers; and to share information and ideas with other parents.
