Last spring, there was considerable media attention surrounding a popular series on Netflix titled "13 Reasons Why". Based on a novel by the same name, this series contained graphic and sensitive topics including suicide, sexual assault, bullying and harassment, alcohol and drug use, and violence.

"13 Reasons Why: Season 2"  is expected to be as intense and virally popular with adolescents as was the first season. The intense, graphic portrayal of these difficult issues involving youth present both the risk of triggering harmful behaviours among some vulnerable youth, as well as the opportunity for adults to engage in meaningful and supportive discussions with youth about these issues.

To address parent/guardian and educator concerns regarding the nature of this series, a group of education and mental health organizations has created an online toolkit with guidance, talking points and other resources specific to the series and issues portrayed. This resource and the individual links to parent/guardian and educator guidance documents can be found below.
